description

When standard commercial gears cannot meet the accuracy, material, or quality requirements of your application, precision gears are the path forward. Aerospace flight controls, surgical robotics, satellite mechanisms - these are applications where the gear is part of a system that cannot fail.

We work with spur, helical, bevel, and worm configurations. CNC machining, hobbing, shaping, and grinding produce quality levels from AGMA 8 to AGMA 15 - well beyond standard commercial tolerances.

8620 carburizing steel develops a hard, wear-resistant surface with a ductile core. 4140 through-hardened handles moderate loads without the cost of case hardening. 303 stainless covers food and medical environments where rust is unacceptable. Inconel and titanium are for aerospace situations where both strength and weight matter.

Tolerance Breakdown by AGMA Level

AGMA 8: good for industrial automation and general machinery. AGMA 10: for servo systems and precision motion control. AGMA 12–15: for surgical robotics, metrology equipment, and aerospace mechanisms where sub-arc-minute accuracy is specified.

Quality is non-negotiable in precision manufacturing. Every component undergoes rigorous inspection at each stage of production.

  • ISO 13485 - Full FDA compliance support; quality management system for medical device components
  • ISO 11607 / FDA 21 CFR 820 - Packaging and sterilization validation for implantable and surgical devices
  • ASTM F136 / F67 - Material specification compliance for implant-grade titanium and stainless
  • First Article Inspection (FAI) - Full dimensional and functional report for every medical component
  • CMM Inspection - Coordinate measuring for complex geometries and tight tolerances
  • Surface Roughness Measurement - Ra, Rz, and Rt charting with every inspection report
  • Passivation / Electropolishing - ASTM A967 procedures for corrosion resistance
  • Material Traceability - Heat number tracking from raw material to finished part

From raw material to finished product, every step is controlled and documented:

  • Material Preparation - Bar or forging stock selection with material certification
  • Rough Machining - CNC turning/milling to gear blank profile
  • Gear Cutting - Hobbing, shaping, or milling for gear tooth geometry
  • Heat Treatment - Carburizing, induction hardening, or through-hardening
  • Grinding / Finishing - Gear tooth grinding for AGMA 10+ quality levels
  • Inspection - Lead, involute, and tooth thickness measurement against drawing
  • Cleaning & Packaging - Rust prevention oil coating and protective packaging
