description

Countersunk head socket screws sit flush in countersunk holes - the flat head angle matches the countersunk hole, and the socket drive provides high torque capability for reliable driving. These are the standard fasteners for applications where a flush surface matters - machinery, equipment, and any product where the fastener should not protrude. 82° countersunk is the standard for most applications - the angle matches standard countersunk holes in sheet metal and machined components. 100° countersunk is used in aerospace and some precision equipment where the deeper angle is specified. 4140 alloy steel is the standard material for socket screws - the through-hardened material provides good strength for the socket drive and thread. 18-8 stainless (304) and 316 stainless provide corrosion resistance for outdoor or marine applications.

ex Socket vs. Torx Socket - What You Actually Need

Hex socket is the default choice for most machine tool and industrial applications - the driver is inexpensive, widely available, and the socket depth is not critical. Torx socket is the choice when you are driving at high torque, working in confined spaces where the driver tends to walk out, or in production environments where cam-out costs you time and replaces worn bits frequently. If your assembly line runs Phillips heads without major issues, hex socket is fine. If you are burning through driver bits from cam-out, switch to Torx.

FAQ

Q1: MOQ?

A1: 50 pieces for standard countersunk socket screws.

Q2: Materials?

A2: 4140 alloy steel (standard). 18-8 and 316 stainless (corrosion resistance).

Q3: Head angles?

A3: 82° standard countersunk. 100° for aerospace and precision applications.

Q4: Drive types?

A4: Hex socket (standard). Torx socket for higher torque and better engagement.

Q5: Standards?

A5: ASTM F912 for alloy steel. ASTM F879 for stainless.

Q6: Custom configurations?

A6: Yes. Custom lengths, thread specifications, materials.

Quality is non-negotiable in precision manufacturing. Every component undergoes rigorous inspection at each stage of production.

  • AS/EN/JISQ 9100 - Aerospace quality management for flight-critical and structural parts
  • NADCAP - Accredited special processes including heat treatment, NDT, and surface treatment
  • DFARS / ITAR - Compliant supply chain for defense and space applications
  • Boeing DMS / Airbus SP - Customer-specific requirements documentation available
  • CMM Inspection - Coordinate measuring for complex geometries and tight tolerances
  • Surface Roughness Measurement - Ra, Rz, and Rt charting with every inspection report
  • Passivation / Electropolishing - ASTM A967 procedures for corrosion resistance
  • Material Traceability - Heat number tracking from raw material to finished part

From raw material to finished product, every step is controlled and documented:

  • Wire / Bar Preparation - Cold heading or CNC blanking to near-net shape
  • Thread Rolling / Cutting - Thread rolling for rolled threads or die cutting for cut threads
  • Heat Treatment - Case-hardening or through-hardening for strength requirement
  • Surface Treatment - Plating, coating, or passivation as specified
  • Final Inspection - Dimensional check, torque testing, and surface inspection
  • Packaging - Bulk bag, polybag, or plastic tub with labeling and traceability
